صرَّح المتحدث الأمني لوزارة الداخلية بأنه في إطار التحقيقات الجارية بالتعاون والتنسيق مع الجهات الأمنية المختصة بدولة الكويت الشقيقة؛ لتتبع أطراف جريمة التفجير الإرهابي الآثم الذي استهدف مسجد الإمام الصادق في الكويت، فقد أسفرت التحريات المشتركة وتبادل المعلومات بين الجهات الأمنية المختصة بالسعودية والكويت عن الاشتباه القوي بعلاقة (٣) ثلاثة أشقاء سعوديين بأطراف الجريمة الإرهابية بمسجد الإمام الصادق، منهم (٢) اثنان من مواليد دولة الكويت، ولهم ارتباط بشقيق رابع يوجد في سوريا ضمن عناصر تنظيم داعش الإرهابي هناك.
وقد تم بالتنسيق مع الجهات الأمنية بدولة الكويت القبض على أحدهم لوجوده بالكويت، وجار ترتيب تسليمه للجهات الأمنية بالسعودية، كما تم القبض على آخر بمحافظة الطائف، وأسفرت الجهود الأمنية في متابعة الثالث عن رصد وجوده بمنزل بحي المضخة بمحافظة الخفجي، الذي تمت محاصرته، وأثناء مباشرة رجال الأمن في إجراءات القبض عليه، وتوجيه النداءات إليه بتسليم نفسه، بادر بإطلاق النار باتجاه رجال الأمن؛ ما اقتضى التعامل مع الموقف بموجب الأنظمة، وتبادل إطلاق النار معه، واقتحام المنزل بعد تحصنه فيه، والقبض عليه.
وقد نتج من تبادل إطلاق النار إصابة اثنين من رجال الأمن، ونقلهما للمستشفى. والله ولي التوفيق.
