أنهت قبيلة السميان من البقوم ممثلة في الشيخ حمود بن ذعار الجويع ترتيباتها لإقامة حفل تكريم للشاعر حمود بن عايض السمي شاعر القبيلة وذلك بمركز رضوان شمال الطائف ،وتقرر حفل التكريم مساء يوم الجمعة 28 – 6 – 1436 هـ ، يأتي ذلك تقديراً وعرفاناً لما قدمه للساحة الشعبية وموروث المحاورة على مدى 21 عاماً باعتباره أحد رموز المحاورة البارزين
يذكر أن الشاعر “السمي” ولد في رضوان 15 – 5 – 1399 وبدأ في ساحة المحاورة في آواخر عام 1415 وكان أول محاوراته مع الشاعر الراحل فيصل الرياحي رحمه الله وقارع شعراء الرعيل الأول وتميز بالفتل والنقض والحبك وقوة المعنى.
