[B]أكدت مديرية الدفاع المدني بالرياض أن حصيلة حادث انفجار شاحنة الغاز، التي وقعت بالعاصمة صباح اليوم، نتج عنها ١4 حالات وفاة و 60 إصابة نقلت للمستشفيات.
وقال الناطق الإعلامي للمديرية النقيب محمد الحمادي إن الحادثة وقعت عندما ارتطمت شاحنة الغاز بأحد الجسور ومن ثم تسرب الغاز إلى داخل معرض للمعدات الثقيلة، ما أدى لتشبعه بالغاز ومن ثم حدوث الانفجار في الشاحنة والمعرض، ما تسبب في أضرار جسيمة. وبين الحمادي أن بعض حالات الإصابة وقعت في حوادث مرورية بعد الانفجار، مشيراً إلى أن فرق الدفاع المدني تواصل عملها بالموقع.
